This is Uncle Rob. He carried Anna around the house with him all day. He normally spends his free time on the computer, but Chris pulled rank and took over the quest to rule the empire or civilization age of kings whatever.

More sleeping on Hannah.

We rocked in the rocker, Just Grandma and Me.

Seeing Great-Grandpa again. The picture is a little blurry, because they were rocking, like a west coast party...
Aunt Katie held Anna for several hours of naps.

Little Jenny "reading" to Anna. Jenny would ask my mom what the page said then would recite it to Anna. Pretty cute.

Here's Grandpa- he was lifting Anna up and down and she came close to giggling.

I'll post this now before it deletes itself.

It's been two weeks so lots of pictures to post. I'll be here all night. We went down to Georgia for the week of Thanksgiving to spend time with all the Moultons. Here's Anna reading 1776 with Dad before her first flight.

We had fun taking Anna on the plane. She actually slept most of the way. She did have one dirty diaper, of which Dad did the honors in the tiny lavatory, but thankfully no blowouts above the clouds.

Here are Grandma, Aunts Hannah and Jenny, and Anna reading books Monday morning. Introducing scales to the girl who has yet to earn her ABC's.
Naptime in Aunt Hannah's arms.

Bath time with Jenny! Aren't they cute? Just five years between aunt and niece.

Okay- I started this post Sunday night and now it has turned Wednesday and it still isn't finished. I realize that grandparents are checking this daily at least, so there has been disappointments all around. My apologies- however, I will say that I have been trying- this post refused to upload pictures for awhile. I finally wheedled the site to take some, but even those took a long time with several tries and lots of coaxing. Now the site flat out refuses to have anymore pics loaded. It's like feeding peas to a baby, or worse still, to Chris. So that is my defense. I'll go ahead and put this up and work on a new post.

Anna went down for her nap last Monday afternoon and she usually cries for a minute and then whimpers for a minute and then is asleep. This time, she cried for a minute and then silence. I sprang to her crib, to discover this:

A closer look confirms, her thumb's in there.
So maybe the NUK pacifier is a good thing- you can always throw that away. Her thumb is attached.

We went down to MD this weekend to spend some time with Chris' folks. Here's Anna enjoying her great-Grandmom.

We took Anna to her first theatrical play there, The Miracle Worker. She stared at some lights most of the time and saw about as much of the play as Helen... Okay, bad joke. Really though, she behaved very well and made it through the whole play with just one diaper intermission.
This past Monday morning, Chris had another run-in with a truck and trailer. The guy pulling the trailer was parked next to Chris and as he pulled away, he took the front door of Chris' Jeep with him. Bummer is right. Deja vu? (Chris had his foot run over and broken by a truck pulling a trailer in February...) Chris is taking it okay. In fact, if you see him driving by in the rented (keyword) brand new Silverado, extended cab and everything cool, you probably would think he's pretty happy.
Here are some pictures I took while getting Anna dressed one day.

Anna has her first cold. It isn't fun when your kid has the sniffles. Mom has had a cold since Tuesday and short of autoclaving herself has tried to keep Anna from getting it. Just when we thought we were home free, Anna woke up congested on Saturday. She's doing pretty well though. Getting her nose suctioned is the pits, but being sick isn't all bad- here she is enjoying being in Daddy and Mama's bed.
While not feeling well, Anna just wants to be held all the time.

Earlier this week, I took Anna out for probably the last warm, sunny day for awhile. It was short lived though- her little nose met her fist on an unfortunate nose-dive while playing on her stomach. She's got a set of lungs so we came back inside pronto.

10 weeks old today! Time goes by so quickly. Anna is starting to really enjoy her toys. She tries to hit the rattles on her bouncy seat and she likes to stare at any bright toys. She's much more aware of exactly where we are in the room and whether or not we are paying attention to her. That's a girl thing, I believe.
She likes to read books! She actually looks at the pages the whole time we read to her.
As she is becoming more coordinated, she is putting her fists up to her mouth all the time. Her thumb is usually under her fingers so she's not a thumbsucker, yet.

Last weekend, Liz McLean was in town and gave these cute overalls to Anna. They are great! Here is a sampling of the fifty pictures I took of her in them.

We're not sure how long the pants will contain Anna's legs, so Anna's worn these overalls just about every day.

Anna had her two month check-up on Tuesday. Again, she is in the 75th percentile for height and 50th for weight. This visit however, was vaccine day. Five shots. The nurse was trying to explain the importance of vaccinations, but the tears kept coming and they didn't stop until we were back home. Anna cried too, but she fell asleep before we left the doctor's office.

This morning, Saturday, Anna started our day off with the "out the back Jack" routine. So, she had a bath straight away, then had a fun shower with dad. She loves the water. She's a happy baby- a whole two days with dad ahead.

We made the trip across PA okay. The drive takes a little longer with a high-maintenance passenger. Plus, we had to stop for Anna. She did great! The trip took about 7 hours with stopping to feed and change her and she only cried maybe 15 minutes total. The car puts her to sleep.
Grove City was very cold!! Chris and Anna were bundled together in the baby bjorn with the fleece cover so she stayed cozy. Chris and I relied on Sheetz coffee and cocoa for warming up, just like old times. We spent Saturday going to the parade, walking and seeing people around campus, defrosting in the Geedunk and going to Rachel's with some other folks. On Sunday, we went to Hillcrest church and enjoyed visiting with the families from there. We left later than we had planned, we always do, and rolled back into Glenside at the wee hour of 2AM. We were all pretty wiped out. However, Superman Chris went to work several short hours later. Anna and I did this for the day:
Here's Anna flying.

She's enjoying time on her stomach now that she can hold her head up pretty well. She's so cute, we think.

This weekend, Anna met her Great-Grandpa. He flew in Thursday from AZ and, with one Anna-smile, was smitten. We had a good time together. We spent most of Friday afternoon going back and forth to the mechanics shop because my car was in for "an oil change" that was taking FOR-ever...but actually, darling Chris was surprising me by having a remote entry and ignition mechanism put in. So this winter, I can start the car from inside our apartment so it is warm when Anna and I get in it. What a great idea and what a great guy.

A conversation with Dad.

We agree, she is cute!
This little girl is getting so big! Here she is about to go out with Mom.

And here's Anna all smiles in anticipation for grocery shopping. She makes errands so enjoyable.

In honor of her 6 week birthday, Anna began sleeping 6 hours at night and Mom is T-H-R-I-L-L-E-D. Morning activities are re-commencing in the Schwartz household but are always tentative- if you have plans with us for the AM, they are very subject to change.

This weekend we're taking Anna to check out her future, aka: were going to homecoming at Grove City. We look forward to seeing good friends there and we'll bring the camera.

Video reposted...
Anna rolls over for the camera!
We came home from our morning walk and after the routine diaper and outfit change, I put Anna down to play on the floor on her stomach. She pushed herself up with her arms and got her head over one arm. I realized she was going to show off her rolling skills so I found the camera and here she is.
We had a great weekend. Friday, Anna, who is not allowed to watch tv, was spared from viewing Poseidon, a drawnout cliche of a movie. Saturday, Anna went to her first meeting of the church ladies then came home to enjoy the attention of grandparents- Chris' parents were up for the day. Saturday night, Anna had her first trip to Walmart. Early Sunday AM, Anna and Mom had a couple-hour-long party at her crib. Later in the morning, we went to church and Anna protested through most of the service. We don't think she has any real qualms about Isaiah's prophecy or P. Troxel's interpretation- she was just tired from her and Mom's above stated party. Sunday afternoon was enjoyable as she simultaneously napped and cheered the Ravens on to yet another win. Anna's enthusiasm has certainly impacted their record- maybe Art Modell should send us a check.
All in all, the weekend meant lots of Daddy time, which meant it was a great time. Dad started working at a new site this morning. His commute is now an hour and a half each way so time at home will be even more premium. We are surely thrilled when Dad walks in the door. Here's Anna dreaming of Dad.

The batteries needed changing in the camera this past week so there were few photos taken. However, here is Anna's contribution to Abington's stats.
